Summertime Prep: Thirsty Buddha x Tropical Fruit Smoothie

In truth, it’s only mid-April. We’ve got more rainstorms in our forecasts then we do sunshine-y days. We’ll be carrying umbrellas for at least a little while longer, and our flip flops are still safely tucked away in our closets (unless you’re reading this from sunny California, Florida and the like. If such is the case, then kindly leave us cool-weather dwellers to our imagining!).

It may still be April in reality, but in our hearts summer is in full swing. If you’re looking for some added inspiration to make your beach dreams more vivid, look no further than this smoothie– it’s got Thirsty Buddha and all the delicious tropical fruits you can think of! Here’s what you’ll need:

- 1.5 cups of Thirsty Buddha coconut water

(tip: use Thirsty Buddha’s Mango flavor to increase the tropical factor!)

- 1 large banana

- 1/2 cup of diced pineapple

- 1/2 cup of diced papaya

Try the recipe out for yourselves, upload your pictures to Instagram, Twitter or Facebook and tag Thirsty Buddha!

Guilt-Free Shamrock Shake!

St. Patrick’s Day– the holiday of indulgence and the color green– is upon us! If you’re doing it right, you’re dressed in every shade of green imaginable and turning to the Lucky Charms leprechaun for sartorial inspiration. With this particular holiday, though, it’s easy to get carried away in tradition and over-indulge in a pint or two (or many more!). Rather than making a decision that you’ll regret tomorrow when you’re trying to shake the hangover, not to mention the extra calories you consumed, why not try a festive smoothie that you can feel good about?

Here’s our take on a Shamrock Shake!

BPA-free, and with good reason!

In recent years, there’s been a surge of awareness about what is healthy and what isn’t. Sugar has been exposed as a major cause of illnesses, while fats (the healthy ones, of course) have been vindicated and are no longer to be avoided. A less obvious villain that’s present in so many every day items is BPA. You may know that health-conscious brands like Thirsty Buddha use BPA-free packaging, but do you know why it’s dangerous to begin with?

Update: Thirsty Buddha x charity : water

Healthy hydration is Thirsty Buddha’s ‘raison d’etre’– with every can of coconut water we produce and distribute, we seek to supply the masses with sources of hydration that benefit the body. Our awareness about the importance of access to healthy drink sources got us thinking: now that we’re hydrating consumers in North America, we should be helping impoverished communities achieve the same basic necessities. Enter, charity : water.

Ditch The Resolutions

Sure, setting new goals for yourself is always a good idea, as is the general concept of working on a better version of your already awesome self. New Years resolutions, however, are not the best way to achieve either of these things! It may be the first week of January, and everyone around you may be discussing their lofty goals and resolutions, but you should opt out– change the way you see your personal development by skipping the tired New Year’s trope! Please Don’t Fear The Cleanse

To some it sounds like socially sanctioned torture– refraining from eating for days at a time, ingesting only liquids (presumably while those around you snack unceremoniously on every delicious treat you are forbidden from having). To others, it’s something out of a dream– a foolproof way to give your body a boost of energy.  (more…)
